Walkthrough
Do You Offer Tours?

Yes
- Tours are scheduled for serious inquiries with proof of a travel nurse contract / recruiter contact info.
- Schedule enough time to take a walk around downtown with us to get a feel of everything there is to walk to from our location.
- Upload your travel nurse contract to the secure folder:contract.avlnurse.com .
- Contact us to schedule a tour. Please leave a voicemail.
Reserving
How Do I Reserve?

Check Reservation System Availability
- Everything required to reserve is in our reservation system.
- Our minimum reservation length is 30 nights.
- Reserve 91 nights or more for the greatest discount.
- A non-refundable flat deposit is required to reserve.
- The deposit guarantees you the room & prevents others from reserving it.
- The remaining payment is paid on the arrival date.
- Reserve for the entire length of your travel nurse contract.
- Contact us for any reason. Please leave a voicemail.
30 Night Minimum?

Yes
- All rooms are minimum 30 nights length of stay as of 2022.
- Check availability and reserve.
How Much Does it Cost?
-
- Each room has it's own per night price.
- Each payment has a "per transaction cost".
- Making less payments for longer periods of time costs less.
- Discount for 91 or more nights.
How Far in Advance?
-
Less than a month
- Contact us if your arrival date is farther in the future than availability shows.
- The reservable arrival date online can only be near future.
- Check the current arrival date booking window on the reserve page which also shows room availability.
Arrival Date Window?

Yes
- There is a narrow arrival date booking window online.
- Although it fluctuates, it's:
- • More than 2 days in advance of arrival.
- • Less than a month in advance of arrival.
- The current arrival date booking window is listed at the center top of the reserve page.
Arrival
Can I Just Show Up?

No
- Unfortunately, we are not available to spontaneously provide you with a tour.
- If you would like a tour, please contact us and leave a voicemail to schedule one.
- We offer 30 night minimum furnished rooms for travel nurse contract holders.
- Check availability pricing & reserve.
Check-in Time?
-
After 4 pm
- Reservations are scheduled on arrival date via sms.
- We text the phone listed in reservation at 3:30 pm.
- Please respond instead of just showing up so that we can have your room ready for you.
- Reply to your confirmation about parking info for that day, if you arriving before we 4 pm.
Check-in Before 4 pm?

No
- We are not able to check-in guests before 4 pm.
- Rooms are being cleaned from noon (checkout time) until at least 4 pm.
- Let us know in advance if you won't have a vehicle, and need to drop bags behind check in desk.
Departure
Checkout Time?

Noon
- Any time before 12:00 noon on your departure date.
- We will clean your room from noon until 4 pm in order to prepare it for the next arrival which is possibly as early as 4 pm.
Payments
Discounts?

Yes
- Staying 91 nights or more (13 weeks) is discounted.
- Making one payment (not multiple) also discounted.
Deposit?
-
Yes
- A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve a room which makes that room unavailable for others to reserve.
- A SCHEDULED Pre-arrival date tour/ walkthrough is included with this price.
- Cancel with no additional charge beyond deposit prior to arrival.
- This non-refundable deposit is counted towards your reservation.
Payment in Full?

Payment is always prior stay
- Payment remainder is due after seeing room upon arrival.
- Payment for extension of stay is required before someone else reserves your room.
Refunds?
-
No
- Our incentive structure makes refunds never necessary.
- This accommodates unexpectedly terminated nurse contracts prior to arrival.
- This prevents anyone else from reserving the room until the arrival date.
- The guest would only lose the deposit if their contract is abruptly terminated.
- Our minimum sale for a stay is 30 nights.
- Our minimum cost to make a reservation prior to the check-in date is a fixed deposit.

Due Dates?

Yes
- The remaining payment is due upon arrival after seeing the room.
- It may be possible to divide payment for a 13 week reservation in half at extra cost.
- The discount is based on a 13 week reservation and one final payment upon arrival.
Per Transaction Cost?

Yes
- The discounted price is based on a single payment for the entire amount reserved.
- There is are monetary & labor costs associated with each individual transaction.
- These costs are passed on to the guest in order to incentivize the least number of payments.
- Avoid these costs by booking for longer periods of time when the stability of the nursing contract is high, since we do not offer refunds.
Cancellation Policy?

No
- All sales are final.
- The deposit to hold your room is not refundable.
- In the event that your 13 week contract is less than 100% stable (given the current HCA landscape), contact us to discuss a workable solution.
Verification
Nurse Contract Required?

Yes
- Proof of a travel nurse contract is required to reserve.
- Please upload to this secure folder: work.avlnurse.com.
- Please include:
- Status of pending or confirmed.
- Start date of contract.
- Assignment length.
- Work location.
- Not needed: Social Security Number.
Provide Driver's License?

Yes
- A photo of your driver's license is required.
- Please upload to this secure folder: id.avlnurse.com.
Provide Recruiter Info?

Yes
- We discuss the stability of the travel contract with the recruiting agent.
- A form field is provided in reservation booking form for this information.
- Recruiting agency.

Neighborhood
Are You Downtown?

Yes
- We are in the Central Business District.
- At the South Slope Brewing District.
- Walk anywhere downtown in less than 11 minutes.
Parking?

Yes
- We will explain how parking works on your arrival date.
- The booking form includes space to describe your specific parking needs.
Is it Safe?

Yes
- The only crime in our neighborhood since 2000 has been petty theft.
- Roll up your windows & lock the doors to your vehicle.
- We haven't had broken glass on our street.
- Our cameras cover most of the street on our block.
- Public areas have cameras.
Is it Noisy?

No
- Quiet hours are 10pm to 10am.
- Sound can carry from room to room.
- Fans help with noise masking.
- Guests are generally very respectful of others.
- As of 2022 there is a new open air music venue across the parking lot from us called Rabbit Rabbit.
- We hope you like music!😀
- The venue promptly ends by 10 pm, so there is no late night neighborhood noise.
- Asheville has a new noise ordinance, and we have found that Rabbit Rabbit has been in compliance.
- The author of this page is an audio engineer, and can attest that the amplified sound is quieter than expected, and the music is generally pleasant.
Deliveries
Receive USPS Mail?

The Post Office is 1 Block Away
- Guests CAN NOT receive USPS mail at this address.
- Guests may not use our address as your legal address in any way.
- Mail addressed to guests is not delivered to the locked mailbox, and instead is returned to sender.
- However! We are one block from the Downtown Asheville United States Post Office, where they can hold mail as general delivery, or you can rent a post office box from them while you are here.
- Guests can receive packages and we are able to help you check the door cameras if you are expecting something, just let us know.
Packages?

Yes
- There's no issue with receiving packages left at the door.
- Items are often left on our porch, we receive a lot of packages.
- We can view cameras to help with packages delivery timeline.
- We have thankfully not yet had anything stolen from our porch.
- The doorbell does not ring inside so as not to bother the guests.
Food Delivery?

Yes
- As of this writing, the doorbell does not ring inside.
- Please keep track of deliveries with your mobile device.
Bedrooms
Bedding Provided?

- All bedding is provided.
- • Bottom sheets & top sheets

- Personal bedding prohibited to prevent bed bugs.
- Educate yourself about bed bugs & travel.
What Should I Pack?

- Please check our weather.
- Guests are often surprised by the temperature.
- Especially how cold it is at night in the mountains.

- Shampoo & conditioner provided.
- Bring your own:
- Toothbrush & toothpaste.
- Shaving supplies.
- Use anything found in the bathroom.

How Many?

2 Guests Per Bathroom
- 1st Property has 2 bathrooms between 4 bedrooms.
- 2nd property has 1 bathroom between two bedrooms.
- All bathrooms have showers.
- The Tiny House has it's own private bathroom.
Towels Provided?

Yes
- Washcloths & bath mats also provided.
- Let us know if you need more.
Hair Dryer?

Yes
- Each bathroom should have a hair dryer.
- Ask for a hair dryer if you don't see one.
- Use bathroom outlets, hair dryers will trip bedroom circuits.
Iron & Ironing Board?

Yes
- We have an iron & ironing board.
- Generally visible in the common area.
- Ask for an Iron & board if you don't see one.
HVAC
Air Conditioning?

Yes
- All bedrooms have AC unit controlled by the guest.
- Common areas are fan cooled.
Heating?

Yes
- Tiny House heating is controlled by the guest.
- All other rooms have central heating.
- Bedrooms have floor registers controlled by guest.
- We can instantly adjust the house temperature remotely.
- Let us know if house heat needs adjustment.
Animals
Pets Allowed?

No
- Pets or animals are not permitted under any circumstances.
- Do not leave pets or animals in your vehicle.
Internet
Free Internet Access?

Yes
- Free high-speed WiFi.
- Free access to a physical computer.
- Our internet is very fast.
Laundry
Handling Laundry?
-
How to handle laundry:
- Laundry baskets are provided.
- Cleaning spray and microfiber cloths are provided to wipe out laundry baskets.
- Laundry soap is provided.
- There are two tables, one for dirty on the left and one for clean on the right.
- Place anything dirty only in the dirty table area.
- Place anything clean only in the clean table area.
- Please dry / put away loads abandoned in the washer by staff or guests.
- If something is in the washer, please dry it.
- If something is dry & in the dryer, fold and place on shelf, or at a minimum, place into a clean basket and onto the clean table.
- Washer:
- There is a liquid soap well and also a separate bleach well.
- Dryer:
- Please clean out dryer lint filter after every load.
Personal Laundry?

Yes
- Operation will be explained during check-in.
- Please dry / put away loads abandoned in the washer by staff or guests.
- If something is in the washer, please dry it.
- If something is dry & in the dryer, place into a clean basket and onto the clean table.
- Washer:
- Guests can wash their own clothes at any time, just be quiet at night.
- Laundry soap is provided.
- Wipe out a laundry basket with cleaning provided cleaning spray and put anything in the dryer on the clean table.
- Place anything dirty only in the dirty table area.
- Dryer:
- Please clean out dryer lint filter after every load.
- Please fold and put away house laundry including towels and sheets.
House Laundry?

Yes
- We will explain operation during check-in.
- Guests are responsible for washing their own bedding.
- All guest bedding is provided.
- Please clean out used baskets with spray and microfiber towels.
- Avoid small loads.
- Each fabric type is washed separately for several reasons.
- How to avoid unbalanced loads:
- White sheets/ pillow cases are washed together and by themselves.
- White towels/ bathmats are washed together and by themselves.
- Wash House bar mop / colorful microfiber towels by themselves.
- Wash House black washcloths by themselves.
- Use a little bleach in bleach well for whites:
- Wash comforters by themselves.
- Wash pillows by themselves.
- Wash towel & bathmat only with similar type of fabric.
- If the washer or dryer gets weird and stops working, please take a photo of the error code, and search the problem, or report to staff.
- The machines are computers, and if they cease responding, unplug for 2 hours, and plug back in, they should return to normal.
Sheets & Pillow Cases?

Are always washed together and by themselves.
- Washing bleached sheet type fabric together helps avoid unbalanced loads.
Towels & Bathmats?

Wipe Down Cloths?

- Are always washed by themselves because they are gross.
- These collect under the kitchen sink and under the dirty table in the laundry room.
Kitchen
Way to Cook?

Yes
- Our properties have full kitchens.
- Please always turn on the range hood fan when cooking!
- Indicate cooking plans when checking in.
- Ask for anything that you don't see available.
- The Tiny House only has refrigeration, a microwave, coffee & tea makers inside the unit, but has access to a building with a full kitchen.

Smoking?

- Smoking is not permitted anywhere on our property.
Open Flame?

No
- Candles and any kind of open flame are prohibited.
- No incense or anything that requires flame inside.
Distance
City Bus?

One Block
- The Central Transit Station is one block from us.
- Walking directions from the city bus to us.
- All buses begin and end at the Central Transit Station.
- The AVL City bus called: ART - Asheville Redefines Transit.
- But it's not redefined, it's just a city bus.
Greyhound?

Unsure
- The Greyhound station was shut down in 2020.
- Guests have been getting dropped off at gas stations.
- We had a guest get stranded in Hickory on the way here in Dec 2023.
AVL Regional Airport?

- City bus is $1, takes 36 mins, and runs every 90 mins.
